If you like geology and raw nature, then this Reykjanes peninsula day tour is the one for you. Reykjanes is home to Seltún, one of Iceland most active high-heat areas, and to the hot spring Gunnuhver. The contrast between the ocean and the black lava creates a magical landscape that photographers love – so be sure to bring your camera.

Almost all of the travelers who visit Iceland visit the Reykjanes peninsula – but not on purpose. They visit the peninsula because the international airport is situated there, and so most travelers will touch ground in Keflavík, hitch a ride with a bus or a taxi towards Reykjavík, stop at the Blue Lagoon – maybe – and leave the peninsula thinking that they have seen it all. But they are mistaken. They have not seen it all. Our tour attempts to set this misconception straight.

We will take you along to Lake Kleifarvatn (the largest lake on the peninsula); to the Seltún hot spring area; to the Krísuvíkurbjarg cliffs (the biggest bird cliff on the peninsula); to Selatangar, which was once a big fishing settlement in the late 19th century (it was abolished in 1880 and now only the elves live there. The elves are mostly invisible so we cannot guarantee that you will see them.); to the Blue Lagoon – everyone’s favorite lagoon; to the Gunnuhver hot spring; and to the Reykjanes lighthouse, which is the oldest lighthouse in Iceland (like all things that are old, it is necessary to pay them a visit every once and a while; that is what our grandparents say, at least, and we suppose they are right.).

Don’t just drive through the peninsula blindly – come see all it has to offer with us!
